Empowering Deaf Women from Ethnic Minority Communities
At DEWA, we celebrate the rich diversity of deaf women from ethnic minority backgrounds. Our mission is to provide meaningful advocacy, support, and connection – ensuring every member feels seen, heard, and valued.
Through community, empowerment, and solidarity, we help our members thrive as part of a strong, inclusive network.
Deaf ethnic women can access information and support from DEWA’s resources and services to build their confidence. DEWA also works to raise awareness of the unique challenges that deaf ethnic women face, including language barriers, cultural differences, disability rights and social inclusion.
We advocate to ensure their voices are heard, and society pays attention to the issues they face. This work means deaf ethnic women are more visible, which helps to build a fairer and more equal society.
